You are free to import from other grids EXCEPT GCG ( Great Canadian Grid ) DO NOT BRING ANG FROM GCG OVER it will mess up the sim you are on You will le to delete the boxes - Items It will FREEZE the sim. and the sim will have to be restarted The Problem is with GCG Not 3rdLife There is nothing we can do,
3rdLife Grid Bring your vision to life

This is not true at all...I don't know why you feel the need to bash GCG after all I did for you guys. I'll expect this thread to be deleted but in the meantime remember this..Terry Ford built GCGs platform and Digis...so if it don't work from GCG it wont work from Digiworldz...and we all know thats just not the case...but anyways good luck with your grid.

I find that hard to believe that it would just be content from a single grid causing you issues and I agree with Roddie Macchi that if you had issues with GCG you would also have them with Digiworldz content. I suspect the problem lies in content which has been taken from somewhere, probably without proper permissions, then copied and carried from grid to grid to grid over years before attempting to copy it for the dozenth time onto your grid. Perhaps you have the same issues as all OpenSim grids that scripts from SecondLife or InWorldz will indeed crash a region. Perhaps you are trying to upload complex mesh which your servers can not handle. Perhaps you have a code somewhere in your importing that does not like the added security features on the GCG grid. I do not know. There are many factors that could be involved here but your approach of bashing a grid, that you recently had called your home (and still visit each week since you closed your regions), is not the most productive one and certainly will not help you to grow in the OpenSim Community.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see bashing here. I see a grid administrator informing his residents that there have been problems with items coming from a specific grid and requesting that we not bring items from there in order to avoid future problems. I would be inclined to agree with the comment about items from DW also causing issues, however, that hasn't proven to be the case. I personally, have brought many items over from DW, as well as other grids, and have had absolutely no trouble. I'm not technically inclined, nor have I sat next to our Administrator as he is investigating the problem, so I'm not going to make guesses about what the problem may be, but I do know that there -were- issues and it involved items that were brought from GCG. I do believe if GCG Administrators noticed repeated issues with items from a specific grid, Roddie would also make the request to residents to avoid importing items from that grid.
